Interested in composting or vermiculture? Have you tried before and failed? Did the worms die off? Jealous of the compost bins you see on YouTube? Want a foolproof way to start you own compost / vermicompost bin? This is for you! Just follow my simple instructions below for a thriving vermicompost bin.
You will receive 1/2 pound of substrate and worms taken directly from their bins plus a sample of my Worm Chow included at no additional cost to get you started. These worms are thriving and you will receive a complete piece of their ecosystem to get your compost adventure going.
**Please read below carefully to understand exactly what you are purchasing. I do not offer refunds**
This purchase will contain approximately 30 African NightCrawlers within approximately 1/2 pound of worm substrate. The substrate contains worm castings and maybe worm eggs plus all of the beneficial microbes and nutrients they currently thrive in. A complete ecosystem ready to go.

Simple instructions to set up and maintain your new thriving compost bin:
1. Fill new bin with shredded newspaper and moisten. Do not add too much water or you will create pooling. If pooling happens, add more shredded newspaper to compensate.
2. Empty your new worms and substrate onto the middle of the newspaper. No need to disperse them, just wait 5 minutes and they will find their way through.
3. Sprinkle a light layer of Worm Chow over the top and lightly moisten. Again, do not go overboard with the water just a light mist to soften up the Worm Chow.
4. Cover the substrate with a sheet of newspaper. Moisten the sheet and let the bin setup for 2 days.
5. After 2 days, check on your new compost bin and if everything looks good, start adding small amounts of vegetable scraps.
6. Continue checking the bin every couple of days adding Worm Chow and scraps as needed.
**IMPORTANT!! DO NOT OVERFEED**
If your compost bin has an off putting odor, you probably have too much food and or water in it. These bins should not stink. (They don't smell like roses but they should not clear the room.) If this happens remove all uneaten food, fluff the substrate to add oxygen (helps avoid anaerobic conditions) and wait a few days before feeding again. This should get you back on the right track.
7. In about 1 month, you will have a thriving compost bin just like the ones you see on YouTube.
