American Flyer #969 Rocket Launcher Original w/ Box and Components (#25045).
All original from 1957.
Uncatalogued.
In exceptional condition.
Includes missile, pickup power section and control button.
Solenoid works as originally intended.
One of the fins on the missile is long gone.
The flat car has all four steps and a two piece brake wheel.
Both knuckles work including the springs.
Trucks have sintered iron side frames.
See the pic of the back side of the control button. It has some melt marks from wires that shorted.
The box has all flaps.
Note that the one flap has an add on printed tape with lettering. The one end of it can be peeled back about 1/4” and you could see the numbers 25 which I bet is 25045. Is the printed tape an American Flyer inventory number?
There is a crease on the one long side of the box; see pic.
