The terry toweling provides an absorbent layer to the protector which soaks up any moisture throughout the surface and wicks it away from your body during the night. This allows it to then evaporate thus drying out much faster than if the terry toweling wasn't there.

Waterproof Barrier
Terry top mattress protector is ideal for most situations such as when you want to protect your mattress from perspiration stains or from other bodily fluids and incontinence. The TPU backing (polyurethane membrane) is not only waterproof but also breathable. This allows heat and moisture to breathe through while blocking off stains, liquids, and other bacterias from bed mattress.
TPU backing ensures that you won't hear a plastic noise when you move during the night, while the soft top provides you with unparalleled comfort.
Dust Mite Proof with Hypoallergenic Barrier
Generally preferable for allergy sufferers, this mattress protector let you sleep comfortably at night without the worry of runny eyes or stuffy noses. Dust mites are microscopic creatures, invisible to eyes that majorly causes these allergies or asthma. They lay on the dark environment as mattress or pillows and feed on human skins and makes the situation worst. Once the bed is made with the correct size mattress protector, it rarely slips and stays in place until removed. Also, it enables airflow technology that allows air to circulate through the protector but repels liquids.

Care instructions
To make cotton terry surface softer and absorbent, it is recommended to machine wash and dry before use.
Machine wash separately in cool to warm water, using a mild detergent (free from any bleach). Make sure your mattress protector is unzipped with waterproof backing facing in.
Please do not use any solvents or bleach, bleach alternatives, non-chlorine bleach or any bleach by-products in the detergent, as this will damage the waterproof backing. Avoid using fabric softener as it reduces the absorbency of the cotton terry surface.
Tumble dry on a low heat with bed sheets or other clothing or air dry. Do not iron. Do not dry clean.

The pictures tell it all . . . .My puppy likes jumping onto my son's bed to relieve herself (1 & 2). While in training, I have to protect my son's bed (,000 special bed that sits up--he's disabled). I covered his bed with this waterproof mattress protector. Long story short, NOTHING got thru. The urine spread into the terry cotton but did not leak. In another spot, the urine held there as if in a cup. AMAZING. I received no discount for this review, but it's still worth buying another and another (just to change out while the soiled covers are in the wash).

Easy... Because he is the reason why this product is getting my seldom given four star rating. Netflix, my cat, of Flix as we like to call him is the reason for my purchasing this product, and as you might be able to tell by my use of personal pronouns... Flix is a male cat. As such, he, like most males, likes to mark his territory, such as my bed ... Especially when he senses that there has been another male present. (Mom, stop reading here) So, Flix became fond of "marking" my bed because he didn't like the smell of one male in particular and whose smell apparently lingered there longer than our relationship. I "Nature's Miracled" the living $#+! out of the mattress and cleaned my sheets in bleach but nothing made a difference. It took Flix longer to get over the other male in my bed than it took me to... Until during one of my late night Amazon binges... I stumbled onto this product. It has been over a year now and I'm happy to report that while Flix has discovered other ways to make me spend my money, cleaning products for my mattress has not been one of those ways. Here he is on the bed with this cover on it hidden discreetly under my epic flannel sheets and the only thing on his mind is stealing my seaweed salad. On a side note: I've noticed that the sheets stay fresh smelling for longer and my morning allergies/congestion are completely gone... so I'm assuming it's this amazing little ditty. When it came time last year to upgrade to a king sized mattress and retire this bed to the guest room that never has any guests in it, the guy at the mattress store tried to sell me a mattress cover like this one for over 0. Ummm... thanks but... I will buy this one again and again... and I suggest you do the same.

My wife has an open door policy which, from what I can tell, means that if my son gets scared in the middle of the night, he?s welcome to come into our room?and pee in our bed. Ok, so it?s not that bad, but shortly after buying a very very expensive mattress my son did wet the bed. Memory foam is a giant sponge so I wasn?t super thrilled. I decided to go on a hunt for a good solution. I didn?t want to feel like I was sleeping on plastic, but I needed something waterproof. Not water resistant, but waterproof. I know it?s asking a lot but I found this mattress protector and decided to give it a shot. I purchased another one for about twice as much as this, and side by side can?t tell them apart. They are identical in appearance and function. I needed two because I NEVER want my mattress to be without one of these on it and I want a backup when my other one is in the wash. First thing I noticed was that it really didn?t seem super soft. I?m not sure what I was expecting but this wasn?t it. That being said, I really like this thing! Under the sheets it?s not uncomfortable at all, and you can see from my video, it is absolutely waterproof. The terry cloth on top helps absorb some, but I?d imagine that any large amount of fluid and I?ll be waking up in a puddle. That is still better than ruining a 00 mattress. It can be machine washed but be careful in the drier. Make sure you turn the heat down or that plastic underside might melt and ruin everything. I liked the elastic type sides too, it held nicely on the mattress. I did receive this at a discount to evaluate and review but having tried them out I would absolutely buy it at full price. I understand the value reviews have when making purchasing decisions as I use them too, so my review is unbiased and honest. I also regularly update my reviews so if I have any issues in the future you will see an updated posted at the top. Thanks to this, my son is welcome in my bed again. At half the price of the other guys I say get it!
